Rumorville has been pumping out some interesting news this week. One that stands out the most and has a higher likelihood of being true is the one involving Adchemy and a few ex-Quicken employees.
Word flying around the industry is that recently exited Quicken employee’s Chris Meerschaert and Jon Moises will be joining the Adchemy team. This has not been confirmed with Chris but Jon Moises Linkedin profile confirms the move. If the the rumors are true Adchemy will be using these two gentlemen to start a consulting arm of their lead generation business. Coming from Quicken I am sure these two men will give their soon to be clients some very valuable information.
However, I have a few questions, if in fact this is true. Will the consultations be free or will there be a fee? I have heard that there will probably be a fee and if this is true, how will the current market handle this? Are brokers/banks willing to fork out a large fee for anything these days, let alone consulting? I wonder how Quicken feels about this? I am sure they are not completely pleased, but I am sure Adchemy wouldn’t do this if there was a possibility that it would hurt their relationship with Quicken.
I really am pleased that education is moving to the forefront of the industry. Companies are realizing that an extra effort needs to be placed on educating and helping improve the lead management of their clients. Leads360’s hire of Noel Collins was the first of its kind to specifically hire a person from the buy side to help with client management and education. I am not sure how buyers are going to take this new move for Adchemy. There is a big difference between an LMS and a lead provider giving you lead buying and lead management advice, I think. I could be wrong, but I think buyers may be a little more esitant to take the advice from a lead provider than an LMS. Who knows I could be wrong. People can easily say the same thing about this blog. Now that I have moved from the buy side to the sell side people could possibly be more hesitant about the advice I give out. I think I have proven and continue to prove my unbiased opinions on lead providers, though.
Of course this does nothing for Adchemy’s lead quality, which I believe is solid, but it could possibly help their buyers, which is good for everyone.
We will see if this is only a rumor or not and I will let you know if I hear anything else. If you know anything about this news, please let us know.

This would really be a bold move by Adchemy. I have always been impressed with the people that work for the company, it’s quite an impressive resume. I agree there may be some initial obstacles with a lead company offering the service but like Lead Critic, believe education and assisting clients with workflow is needed.
