LeadsCon – The Lead Generation Conference

I wanted to share some exciting news about an upcoming event, which everyone in the “Lead Ecosystem” should attLeadsconend. The editor of DM Confidential has spent the last few quarters putting together LeadsCon 2008. LeadsCon will be held in Las Vegas at The Palms April 2-4.

You can obtain information on the content, participants, and goals directly from the LeadsCon website.

The reason that I am so excited about Leadscon is that it is for us in the Lead Ecosystem and being put on by us. Technology partners including lead management companies, buyers, sellers, advertisers are coming together to discuss trends and solutions needed in our market. This is not a sales kind of show.

There have been several events in the past year with a similar mindset. Leadscon is a great opportunity to build on the momentum which we all created for the industry in 2007. I held an informal event at The Cannery in Newport Beach and Bill Rice/Kaleidico hosted Leads2007 in August. Each time the message, size and sophistication of the audience grew but the overall gist was the same – Competitors, leaders and innovators in the mortgage industry coming together to share ideas and experiences for the benefit of the whole.

If you think most confrences aren’t worth your time and energy, you are right. Ad:Tech and MBA were not fulfilling because the message (boo hoo, mortgage market stinks) was old news and there was a lack of new ideas, discussions, and solutions. At least three full quarters of a down market have passed and the experiences of advertisers, lead management companies, and lead vendors will be interesting-for everyone. What have we learned? Where is the industry going? How are we going to get there?

This is one trip I plan on taking full advantage of from the conversations, networking, sessions and roulette tables.

Is anyone else interested in hearing what is going on right now? What is next? And how are we all adapting to the changing landscape in the Lead Ecosystem?

LOL glad to hear everyone is as excited as I am. Looking forward to seeing old and new friends. Raj be sure to sit on the panel with the other execs of LMS companies. It would not be complete without the entire group of leaders in that space. Critic, you’re going to have your hands full on that panel, hahaha. J/K. SEE YOU ALL THERE

I would be interested in all of your thoughts as to what turn out might look like. I am thinking about attending but want to make sure it will be worth my time.

So you have some background and context for your thoughts…I am responsible for lead buying and management for a top 10 US bank. We buy a lot of Home Equity leads (don’t buy a ton of 1st mtg leads but that will change sometime in 2008). We work with around 20 providers today.

I think this could be good but would like all of your feedback.

Yeah, I think it would be beneficial. I think there will be some great networking opportunities and sessions that will help your operation, no matter what size it is.

that is only my two cents, though.
