LendingTree Brings On A New Agency
I know I have covered LendingTree extensively this week and we are all tired of hearing about them, but…
It was announced today that they have hired Euro RSCG Worldwide to manage their advertising vision and one of the largest advertising budgets online. Why this is notable to mention is because of all the news that came out regarding their large losses and elimination of their affiliate program.
Jeff Brooks, co-president of Euro RSCG NY added, “I couldn’t think of a better client to partner with than LendingTree as we build a new industry model of integrated advertising and marketing services. We are very fortunate to be working with such a visionary company whose remarkable success is rooted in a history of innovation.”
RSCG has moved the digital to the forefront of their business model and according to Doug Lebda, makes the relationship “especially relevant”. This is clearly the direction where most Agency should be moving towards. New marketing is entrenched in the digital realm and the agency’s that don’t get it will be left behind. You would think that most agency’s would understand this but I know first had that this is not the case.
Here is a bunch of typical fluff and ass kissing given out by the new appointed agency.
Euro RSCG NY co-president Andrew Benett offered that, “LendingTree has always been a very forward- thinking company. They share our vision of the future of agency-client relationships as being more of a partnership between companies. This approach will inform how we’ll work together, where we’ll work, and how we will collectively share in the upside of the initiatives we jointly develop.”
Now LendingTree states that Mullen, their prior agency will continue to participate on a few projects, but it will be interesting to see how their creative and/or their pitch will change, if at all.

Wow! One of the main goals this year by LT was to lower advertising costs by focusing on free traffic and organic seraches. The elimination of the affiliate program is a strange way to do that. This is the same company who cannot even match consumers with lenders when there is high volume (ex. Fed rate cuts). LT will continue to make false advertising part of it’s norm and prey on the suckers that do a search for “bad credit” and hope they can get a laon shark to offer them something.
