This has not been confirmed, but there are two strings of comments on two separate forums announcing a closure of LendingTree Loans in Charlotte and the laying off of half the California office here and here. I heard rumors last week that key member of the management team, Kyle Kilpatrick left or was asked to leave the team. He as now been taken down of the leadership page at LendingTree.com. It seems as though the rumors were leading to what happened yesterday at 1:30pm, when everyone was told that they would be shutting their doors and to clean out their desks.
Don’t be confused, this is there Home Loan Center and not there lead generation branch.
I will let you know when this has been confirmed. If anyone has any other information or details please let us know about them.
Update: I just received word that Charlotte is still operating. On what level I am not sure. When I receive a better update I will pass it along. 12/8/07
More confirmation of severe layoffs for LendingTree Loans. No closed doors, just layoffs. 12/13/07

Both the Charlotte and California offices are still open and operating, just with less staff. The layoffs or restructuring have not been easy on anyone. The market is a beast and many companies and subsequently good people have suffered as a result of the sub prime travesty.
All we can do is hope that this company and others like it survive.
