About the Author

LeadCritic, formally a lead manager for a large real estate, mortgage and financial service company has a passion for the mortgage lead business, from the buyers perspective. A few other interests include Internet Marketing, web analytics, lead management and consumer behavior.

Bye, Bye Morinsight:(

I will no longer be authoring any post at Morinsight:(   Specific circumstances are forcing me to  pass the torch to a new anonymous blogger “Lead Critic”. The blog and forum will eventually transfer to a new domain. Your User-names and Passwords will still be valid within the forum so no need to worry. The transition should be seamless and should take 24 to 48 hrs.

The goal and subject matter of the blog will not change much, if at all and you can still expect the blog to be your best source on the web for mortgage lead information and opinions.

I encourage you to continue to support the blog and the idea of transparency in the lead marketplace. Because as we all know it is clearly needed.

Thanks you,

Morinsight

You talk about “transparency” a lot on this site, yet you author an anonymous blog. Explain that one, please.

That’s an excellent question transparency and I would love not to be anonymous but some people respond to facts or opinions differently. When I say transparent I am referring to open discussions about the success and failure of leads. There are too many people wasting money on lead providers that are out to make a quick buck. I am sure you have an experience or two. I sure do…
IF I shared that expierence with you or you shared your expierence with me. Don’t you think that would be helpful?

I think this is a bad sign for things to come in the Blog world. It’s my understanding that opinions in the business world are best when shared. I look forward to seeing a continuation of the sharing of opinions on this site.

This is silliness. You started a good dialogue with readers about things that effect their business everyday. To have to alter that format “for circumstances” seems like pressure from someone or someones more worried about preserving a market perception versus a reputation.

This really clicked for me when I read Harvey Mackay’s daily (”Swimming with Sharks” author–oldie but goodie). He talked about reputation and had this gem from Lincoln:

“If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very best I know how—the very best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out all right, what is said against me won’t amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference.”

Execute, and continually try to do the very best for your customers and your reputation in the market will over shout any incremental criticism.
