There are times when I catch myself over indulging in Internet marketing concepts and sometime forget about many core advertising techniques that are available for generating leads. Internet marketing can be convenient at times and the idea of reaching thousands of users with a click of a button can be fun and exciting, but are we over looking a viable source of leads?
A survey performed by ICR states that “a whopping 73 percent of consumers prefer mail for receiving product announcements and offers from companies they do business with. Only 18 percent prefer e-mail. 70 percent prefer mail for receiving unsolicited information from companies they don’t do business with. 86 percent prefer mail for bills, bank statements and financial reports, with only 10 percent opting for e-mail. Fifty-three percent will discard unsolicited e-mails without opening them, but only 31 percent will discard unopened mail.”
The study claimed that people were more likely to say that mail is less intrusive, more convenient, less high-pressured, more descriptive, and more persuasive.
The possible addition of snail mail marketing to your marketing plan could not only build brand awareness but may also be great source of lead generation.
