Tracking Leads on Paper or an LMS?

I had a few conversations with lead buyers over the last few days and both were fairly new to the game. One had is reps working leads off of paper. Basically, he would receive a lead via email and then forward it off to the reps who would then print the lead and use it to track calls and notes. His own words were “an LMS is a waste of money. I track everything!”. The other conversation was with a man who was just getting into buying mortgage leads and was going to bring on about 12 agents to start. He hadn’t started buying leads yet and was simply investigating what was out there for the taking. We had a nice long conversation about different types of leads, what providers were good and of course lead management.

The second guy seemed to have the right approach. He sat there and asked me every question possible and not once that he knew it all. I never claim to know it all either, so I recommended he call the LMS companies and start investigating Lead Management Systems first who would then be able to set his company up with the proper processes so he can be ready to succeed right out of the gate.

I don’t think its a chicken or the egg question, its much clearer then that. An LMS should come first, then the leads.

The value of spending, at most $75.00 per user, equal to 3 leads, is worth so much more then the cost. Don’t be the first guy, who thought that LMS’s were a waste and tracking leads on paper was the best way to go. And meanwhile he was looking for free leads, go figure.

Speaking of lead management, if you didn’t notice, Leads360 will be holding a webinar on how to manage and work leads from the Zillow mortgage network. I think that will be interesting to hear and I suggest you sign up and take listen as well.

    Could not agree more LC!

Leads360’s research on over 10 million leads and several thousand lead buying companies shows that new lead buyers are 35% more likely to be buying leads still after 1 year if they use an LMS than ones who don’t. That’s because they tend to be a lot more successful with the leads that they buy.

Although there are a handful of folks paying $75/user/month for their lead management solution, the average Leads360 customer pays quite a lot less. In fact, new lead buyers can even get started on Leads360 Express for free so we’ve really tried to eliminate the barriers completely for anyone who wants to use a Lead Management software solution.

Jeff’s webinar is going to be a must-not-miss event for anyone in the mortgage industry. We have a rapidly growing number of customers using Zillow leads and doing impressively well with them. It is hard to not like the ROI on leads that are completely free! Register by clicking on the ad on the right of this page.

I would venture a guess that with the intelligence Leads360 gives me I know significantly more about my leads and how they perform versus the individual who stated that he tracks things manually. Does he know about exact contact rate over a certain time frame broken out by campaign with just several mouse clicks? I think not. Does he know his application (qualification rate) by time frame and campaign with the click iof a mouse? I think not. Can he accurately compute ROI by campaign. Maybe but not as quickly as I can. Can he audit payroll effectively? I know it is a big problem for him if he tries to do it. Can he have multiple users (LO’s) work the same lead simultaneously without LO’s back dooring one another all the time? I know that is a big problem for him. Is he utilizing a drip email campaign to help in landing clients? Probably not.

These are but a few things that Leads360 offers its’ clients. Check them out!! Their system just gets better over time.
