LeadPoint Updates Site and Launches Beta
Frankly, LeadPoint’s new site design might have been launched weeks or even months ago, but being that I don’t visit the company websites as frequently has you may suspect, I just came across it last week.
Nonetheless, the site is a very nice upgrade from their previously stale and outdated design. lol, I am kidding, their previous design was not stale or out dated, but the new design is a very nice. Digging through the new site you will come across a new “beta” product call LeadPoint Connect. What is LeadPoint Connect? It is a slight shift in the core fundamentals at LeadPoint.
According to the website and previous discussions with LeadPoint, it is shift closer to more transparancy. Albeit a small shift, it is a shift nonetheless. Previously, buyers of LeadPoint leads have had zero transparancy into whom the true sources of the leads were. Well now, if you happen to find out who the source of the leads are you can send them an inventation or request that you receive leads only from that partner.
LeadPoint Connect provides transparency by enabling buyers to purchase leads directly from specific sellers. Robust reporting tools allow buyers to track campaign performances and hold sellers accountable for results. Top sellers are rewarded for quality and buyers are able to purchase leads with confidence.
Buyers are yet to truely find out where leads are comming from, but lets use an example of how LeadPoint Connect may possibly work and if I am wrong someone from LeadPoint can correct me.
I, LeadCritc, for this example am a lead generation company that uses LeadPoint to monetize my traffic. I found that LeadPoint could provide an infrastructure, a distribution platform and ultimately the buyers that I could not otherwise create on my own at the same cost, therefore I send all my traffic to LeadPoint. More recently I started to realize that I possibly would like a little more control over whom I sell leads too and create partnerships or find buyers that only want to buy my leads, because I told them how great they are. With LeadPoint Connect I can have that buyer join the LeadPoint buyer network and select me as their only source. It is also possible for that buyer to receive other leads from other sources too, now that they are on the network.
The problem or the unknown is the flip story where a buyer is already on the network. As far as I know buyers do not have transparancy into who the sources are, therefore cannot determine which buyer they would like to buy from. Is this correct or has LeadPoint opened their network to show all sources, similar to how Root Exchange worked?
What is LeadPoint Connect really? It is my thought that LeadPoint Connect is an effort to leverage their technology to decrease their reliance on their own sales efforts. By allowing lead sources to bring on their own clients or to send invitations to new buyers they are essentially leaving the sales up to the lead sources. This is a shift from their prior ideals where they held themselves responsible for the sales and technology and left the lead generation up to the lead sources only. Now, if LeadPoint Connect builds momentum, and that is another post all in itself, LeadPoint will be able to leverage the sales of the partnering lead sources and become more of a technology provider then anything else.
This opens more control to the end buyer, which I think is good, but will it make a difference for LeadPoint? Will the participating lead providers step and reach out to the current buyers? What are your thoughts?

Leadpoint has never given me the warm fuzzies as a seller on their network. They’ve got an uphill battle if they now expect me to do the work of their salesforce.
In cases where Leadpoint didn’t provide a market for my leads, I decided to contact known buyers directly. You know what? It’s not as painful as Leadpoint suggests to negotiate, sign and integrate with a new partner … And my revenue per lead, for the most part, has increased!
[I just checked my "Account Settings" and noticed there's a new "Company Profile" section that contains fields for both a company logo and description. According to the page, the company description is "Displayed to Buyer".]

LeadCritic,
Thank you for the compliment on the new site. In regards to LeadPoint Connect, we will officially announce the platform’s roll out in the near future. As we progress through the beta phase, we are confident in the solution we have created to make the lead buying experience a more efficient and streamlined experience for both buyers and sellers.

Interesting - Root did the same thing before they went out of business

LP Connect will forever remain a concept and will probably take a full year before getting off the ground. You are paying for the technology, nothing else. As long as Leadpoint’s commissions are as high as they are, they’ll never scale b/c sellers can’t scale b/c they lose buyer demand b/c the prices are too high… And there is no quality guarantee so it’s a constant cycle…

I don’t think so. I think it will be up very soon, but will it take, that I am not sure of.
