Bill Rice the founder of Kaleidico a Lead Management Software company has joined the MortgageLoan.com team. According to his LinkedIn profile he is now holding the role of Vice President of Content and Managing Editor at the lead generation company.
MortgageLoan.com which holds many high ranking organic search results for numerous mortgage related terms and who is major contributor to the LeadPoint exchange looks to be making a move to boost their already robust library of content. The concentration on content should be a no brainer for most, however most mortgage related keywords are very competitive and without 100’s of pages of content updated daily and the increased volume of inbound links via widgets and good content, they can be very hard to achieve.
Bill Rice who is very big contributor to mortgage sales and lead generation content will be a very nice fit at MortgageLoan. If there is a website that has a good chance at competing with content giant BankRate, MortgageLoan would be that website.
Ultimately, this raises a few questions regarding Bill Rice’s company Kaleidico and its ability to be an unbiased lead advocate. Personally, I don’t think a biased opinion will make much of an impact on the habits of lead buyers anyway. Most will continue to buy from multiple sources, however it is one of those things that make you say hmmmm, just like many said the same thing when I crossed over to the dark side. Regarding myself however, I don’t think there is one person out there that could ever say that I have been biased to my current company, nor do I think Bill will be either.
We will see…what are your thoughts on the move??

Mike,
Thanks for the kind words.
I will continue to be the primary investor and owner of Kaleidico, but I was itching to get involved in some other projects within the industry. So, I have turned day to day operations over to my very capable team.
My interest in innovative lead generation projects is not new. As you know, I had recently joined the advisory board for SmartHippo.
In my mind, working with MortgageLoan.com is just another great opportunity to directly contribute to moving the overall Internet lead generation space forward.

I am wondering if there might be a conflict of interest? Can’t Bill use his insider information from Kaleidico to gather private client lead purchasing information?
This would definitely turn me off from sending Kaleidico future business, knowing that they can prospect my clients with key information about their (my clients) specific lead criteria, gathered from Kaleidico.
But I might be wrong…

That would certainly be pretty foolish of me, huh?
First, I am not responsible for any lead generation or monetization efforts for MortgageLoan.com. There are a lot smart people than I on that task.
Second, although I find it quite bold (written with sarcasm) of you to snipe at my integrity behind an anonymous comment–ultimately it will be yours’ and others’ personal evaluations of my behavior that will help you make that decision.
Besides let’s not be naive. This industry is not that big. If they are buying a significant quantity of leads–they are in everyone’s rolodex. It is relationships and value that bring deals–not your referrals.

Good Luck Bill!
I know Kaleidico will miss your leadership. I know you have been a tough and respected competitor over the years.
One thing that I would not agree with however is that referrals don’t bring deals. Although relationships and value add are critical; referrals from lead providers is an absolutely core source of new customers to Leads360. We even have one of our best people assigned to working with lead provider partnerships full time because we value these relationships so highly. We find that working closely with the best lead providers enables us to provide joint solutions that improve ROIs for our customers and that at the end of the day is the sole purpose of an LMS.
