ahhh the master baiter…

But really, why did we stick such an ugly word to such a beautiful technique? Baiting…this sounds like I am leading someone to a destination under false pretenses. Hmmm, I swear they are not false pretenses. I really do have something good to say! Lately there as been an uproar of negativity about this technique and for what reason? I do not know. I stand up and admit it right now. I linkbait. Whats the big deal? I write articles about industry happenings in hopes off attracting inbound links. It works, although fairly tough in the real estate industry to write anything of interest on a consistent basis, but we try and you should too.
Here are some tips that I think you may find helpful:
In my opinion the most important aspect of the linkbait piece is the title. Now for some of you this is nothing new, but for many this is. You need to have a title that is going to lead them to the article. Here is a list of different ways to create the a good title:
1. Generate a List of the “blank” Top 10 or Top 5 list.
2. How to “Blank”
3. The secret to “Blank”
4. Bash Microsoft
5. Praise Apple
6. Talk about Firefox
7.  5 ways to “Solve a problem”
8. What you should know about “something”

These suggestion will help drive traffic to your site, but to actually generate some good links you will need to follow through with good content.
To get started check out these sites and see what is generating the most traffic and give it a shot.

One last tip. Don’t forget your audience and who is searching the the site you are submitting the article to.

Good luck.
